I like how this entrepreneur lays out 4 ways to get a recruiter’s attention (and, yes, they work with me):
- Build your brand. Be personable and known for your expertise. Attend relevant events and network effectively.
- Be visible online. Your LinkedIn profile needs to be current and represent you well. Put some care and thought into it, from a professional picture to the summary of what you do.
- Stay in touch. Even if an opportunity that a recruiter presents to you doesn’t work out, stay in touch (in a helpful way!) so that you continue to hear about new opportunities. One way to stay top of mind is to refer good people.
- Excel at what you do.
